Paul Westcott, Chairman

FAusIMM, MICA

Paul’s professional expertise is in the design, planning and costing of open pit coal mines, and he has had considerable international exposure to a large number of mines operating with different equipment and seam configurations. He has worked on over 100 different open cut coal mines. He is a “Competent Person” as defined in the JORC Code and has signed many JORC Statements. In addition he has significant experience as an “Independent Technical Expert” and has prepared or had input into many Due Diligence, Valuation and IPO reports. A particular strength is his ability to grasp the ‘bigger picture’ by comprehending the key technical and economic issues, and opportunities that impact on a project’s value. He has 40 years of hands on mine planning experience with extensive overseas experience.

Ken Hill, Managing Director

MAusIMM, MAICD

Ken Hill is an accomplished mining professional with over 30 years success in operational and consulting roles within the cut coal mining industry. His recent experience includes advising in regard to purchasing decisions; as well as managing large scale feasibility studies as an Owners Representative and Consultant Project Manager. Prior to joining Xenith Consulting in 2004, Ken worked with Ensham Resources for eight years during which time he obtained his Open Cut Coal Mine Managers Certificate and fulfilled the statutory role of Site Senior Executive, whilst managing the Ensham Project mine site. Ken’s earlier experience includes extensive work in Australia’s Bowen Basin and Hunter Valley coal regions as well as international projects in South Africa and Indonesia.

Ross Haupt, Principal Mining Consultant

MAusIMM, MAICD

Ross Haupt has over 30 years’ experience in practical, operational and consulting roles for open cut coal mines across Australia, USA and South Africa. He has extensive experience in analysing dragline techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of various digging methods; throw blasting alternatives; multipass methods; and dragline pullback on coal exposure economics. Ross has managed projects involving the economic ranking of deposits; preparation of short and long term mine plans based on lowest cost production; mining prefeasibility and feasibility studies; and mineable reserve estimation. He has particular expertise in coal deposits that are structurally complex.

Troy Turner, Manager – Resource Development

Troy Turner is a Geologist with over 20 years’ experience covering exploration, resource geology and operations for the coal and industrial minerals sectors, with a strong combination of multi-disciplinary technical skills, coal geology expertise and mining business management acumen. Troy specialises in the planning of exploration programs, resource assessments, 3D modelling and conceptual studies as well as being a highly regarded qualified competent person under the JORC code.
