Cheryl has over 25 years’ experience working in the coal mining industry in various roles across the Sydney Basin in NSW. She has also worked on both open cut and underground deposits in the Collie Basin, Galilee Basin, Bowen Basin and Gloucester Basin completing both geological modelling, mine design and optimisation. 

Cheryl has recently travelled internationally to South America to complete JORC Resource and Reserve Audits in a complex multi seam deposit. She has extensive Minex experience in geological modelling of complex geological deposits and has been responsible for resource risk assessment, exploration planning and justification, JORC Resource reporting, short-term coal quality scheduling and incorporation of in pit structural mapping into geological models. Cheryl has developed extensive experience in interpreting complex coal bearing deposits and generating 3D models. She has strength in data management and analysis (coal quality information) for resource evaluation. Cheryl is a qualified competent person under the JORC code and is a member of the executive on the Coalfield Geology Council of NSW.

James is a Mining Engineer who completed his Bachelor of Mining Engineering in 2014 (Hons) and Graduate Diploma in Mine Ventilation in 2015 whilst carrying out research into thin spray-on liners as a gas management tool.

James was awarded the Glencore Mining Engineering Scholarship and worked in Ulan No.3 and Bulga Open Cut as a part of the scholarship program. Currently with Xenith Consulting, where he is involved in scheduling components of LOM plans, feasibility studies and option studies, as well as working on-site in short-term design roles. James has a track record of improving efficiency and a motivation to produce successful outcomes and high-quality output.

His strengths have been his ability to provide practical solutions for mine planning and apply these through the use of technology and good communication. Geoff has held supervisory and statutory survey roles in open cut operations. A wide variety of work at various mine consultancies has allowed Geoff to apply his skills in open cut and underground mine design. As part of the Xenith Mining team Geoff works in the open cut planning group and provides technical input and supervision of a wide range of mining projects.
