On Wednesday 24th August staff members from Xenith had the fantastic opportunity of attending UQ’s School of Earth and Environmental Sciences (SEES) Student Industry event.
Jaco Van Zyl (Senior Resource Geologist), Andrew Lewis (Senior Environmental Scientist) and Chris Glover (Senior Geologist) manned the Xenith booth at the well-attended event and had valuable interactions with the enthusiastic earth and environmental science students from all years, answering numerous questions about early career opportunities in earth science focussed industries.
It was particularly interesting to hear about the variety of student’s research interests and what career pathways the students want to take when entering industry after their studies.
Xenith wishes to thank Nicholas Watt (Industry Representative – UQ Geoscience Society) and the organisers of this excellent event for the invitation to participate, and also wish the SEES students every success in their studies and future employment.”
Xenith Managing Director Troy Turner commented “that we are very happy to participate in student industry events at the various universities around Australia, as we see this as an important need to effectively give back some of our industry knowledge that the Xenith group has built up over the years within our team of experts”.
